What You Should Know About Car Insurances
style=”text-align:justify;”>
Having a car insurance makes all the sense in the world. You want or must have one in order to be able to cover the cost of any material damage that you bestow on other people’s propriety. However, because different laws apply to different countries, here’s what you should do in order to find out what type of insurance you should get.
First of all, visit your local Registration Office (where you have to register your car and car plates) and ask the following:
Are car insurances mandatory in this state / country? (in most countries it is!)
Does the respective insurance cover both the driver and his vehicle?
(if yes) To what degree?Do I have to pay the insurance monthly, yearly or on a “pay-as-you-drive” basis? (”pay-as-you-drive” means paying for the insurance at the end of the year according to how much fuel you’ve used)
I’ll give an example of an ideal insurance: it will pay your medical expenses if you end up injured, it will pay for the physical damage that your car has sustained, it will cover the cost required by the people that have also been injured in a car accident besides you, as well as for the physical damage their vehicles have sustained and, finally, it will pay you in case a fire breaks out and affects you or your car or if your car gets stolen.
Please try to remember that the example given above is of an all-inclusive insurance. However, this type of insurance may be quite expensive to some or even unavailable in some countries. Nevertheless, note down all the advantages mentioned above and get informed as to which are included in the offer of different companies you are about to prospect.
A very important thing you should know before you start searching for the most profitable car insurance scheme is the method used by insurance companies in order to evaluate you and make you a final offer:
Gender. If you’re a male, you’ll pay more. If you’re a female, you’ll pay less. It’s scientifically proven that men risk more. That’s what insurance companies DON’T want you to do;
Age. The younger you are, the more you’ll pay. If you are young, let’s say a teen-ager, you don’t have to worry that much about stability in life, because chances are you’re probably still on your parents’ payroll and don’t have a family of your own;
History. If you have a lot of unpaid tickets or, worse, commited fellonies, you’ll have to pay a lot more. The principle insrance companies abide to is “once a criminal, always a criminal”;
Married or not. If you’re married, then you have a familyIf you have a family, you are an officially responsible human being. If you’re deemed responsible by your insurance company, you’ll pay less;
What vehicle you are driving. You’d be surprised at how many official (and not necessarily official) statistics insurance companies own. If you are driving a vehicle model which is more often than not stolen, you’ll have to pay more for your insurance. If you have a luxury vehical or a vehical that has luxury parts, you’ll pay more, because those are expensive to replace. And so on, so forth;
Where are you usually drivingto. If you only use your car to drive to work in the same city and back home afterwards, you’ll pay less. If you are a long-distance commuter, chances are you’ll break your vehicle more often, thus you’ll pay more for your insurance.
Well, I hope this helps you get prepared to purchase your (if not first) next insurance policy. Drive safely!
